Exponent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Mechanical Engineering Practice in Farmington Hills, MI. You will join multiple teams to tackle electronics, sensors, machinery, product safety, and device reliability challenges, while building consulting expertise and client relationships.

Successful candidates will lead technical work, communicate clearly with clients and teammates, and contribute to business development within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to quickly build a book of business and sell Exponent consulting work.
• Proven track record in technical and project managerial leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and reports.
• Generate business and sell Exponent consulting services.
• Conduct hands-on failure analysis and plan tests.
• Perform calculations, analyses and field inspections.
• Support other practice groups and senior staff on projects.
