Job summary

BW Design Group in Oak Brook, IL, seeks a Sr. Licensed Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems for manufacturing facilities.

You will develop conceptual and detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and industrial gas distribution, working with clients and a multidisciplinary team. The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of hands-on experience, and proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks.

Qualifications

• PE license required and 10+ years of experience in manufacturing facility design.
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems within manufacturing facilities.
• Determine equipment sizes for efficient operation of mechanical systems.
• Design HVAC systems including air handling units and related components.
• Engineer water, wastewater, cooling, boiler/steam, and other piping systems.
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
• Utilize REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks for modeling and coordination.
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide technical insights.
• Maintain quality control throughout design processes to meet standards.
• Oversee mechanical engineering aspects across multi-discipline projects.
