Job Description

LBE, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a motivated full‑time Senior Mechanical Engineer in its Moncks Corner, SC office. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience working for an engineering firm and must hold at least a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a proven understanding of applied HVAC and Plumbing engineering. Our projects include new construction and renovation projects across federal, commercial, and industrial business sectors in the United States and abroad.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Prepare mechanical detailing for construction drawings.
  • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering and design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering industry.
  • Establish and implement standards, processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced team members.
  • Manage a group of engineers and designers.
  • Perform construction administration activities – responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and other related activities.
  • Complete site visits to assess conditions.
  • May travel (<10%) to customer sites for field inspections.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Current Professional Engineer License plus ability to obtain licensing in other states.
  • Working knowledge of applicable design and building codes including IBC, IMC, IPC ASHRAE.
  • Basic knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70).
  • Proficiency in production software, including Carrier HAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidently.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Security Clearance.
Desired Experience
  • Experience working with Federal/Military Facilities.
  • Experience working on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC and UFGS.
  • LEED-AP certification or ability to become certified within six months.
  • Ability to develop detailed specifications in SpecsIntact formatting/software.
  • Strong understanding of control systems over all HVAC system types.
  • Experience in conducting LCCAs and VE studies.
