L3Harris Technologies, a leader in defense tech, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead cross-disciplinary teams on ruggedized opto-mechanical systems from concept through testing. You will drive designs, perform analyses, and ensure conformance to customer specs while coordinating with engineers, program managers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, developing drawings and tests, overseeing procurement, and supporting proposals.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of related experience.
• 6+ years in prototype development and production for aerospace hardware preferred; 4+ years with a Master’s.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership to cross-disciplinary design teams.
• Oversee conceptualization and development of working designs and drawings using MCAD/MCAE tools.
• Develop, review and approve engineering documentation, including specs, drawings, and test plans; GD&T (ASME Y14.5) required; DFMA preferred.
• Perform mechanical analyses using classical and Finite Element methods to verify performance.
• Prepare schedules, specifications, and contract documentation for multi-year development efforts.
• Participate in internal and customer design reviews to demonstrate conformance.
• Assist Purchasing with procurement, vendor oversight, and source inspection as needed.
• Support assembly, integration and test; familiarity with optical systems and MIL-STD-810/461 is a plus.
• Lead technical proposal efforts and program capture activities; travel up to 5%.
