Job summary

Allmand, a Generac Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II/III to drive new product development for mobile light towers and indirect-fired heater products. You will design, model, and release parts, collaborate across engineering, operations, and manufacturing, and manage projects from concept through production.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, strong CAD (SolidWorks or Creo), and the ability to lead major engineering efforts while delivering

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience creating and modifying complex 3D models and complete 2D drawings in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience leading or contributing to a complex mechanical engineering project.
• Experience developing mechanical designs from concept through release.
• Ability to work across engineering, operations, manufacturing, materials, and purchasing.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project-management skills.
• Ability to travel less than 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead or significantly contribute to new product development, redesigns, and major engineering improvements for mobile light towers and heaters.
• Develop and release 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Manage engineering projects with requirements, deliverables, and timelines balancing performance, quality, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
• Develop and implement Engineering Change Orders, investigate product issues, and deliver timely corrective solutions.
• Identify cost-reduction and continuous improvement opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with production, assembly, and warehouse to improve quality, design accuracy, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and junior engineers.
• Adapt to changing priorities and stay current with industry practices.
