Job summary

SkyBridge Aviation seeks an experienced Mechanical / Mission Systems Integration Engineer to support a confidential defense and mission-systems client in Atlanta. The role spans concept design, prototyping through production build and installation, with a strong focus on communications/mission-equipment rack development and ruggedized platform integration.

The engineer will collaborate across disciplines, ensure mechanical interfaces align with program goals, and operate onsite in the Atlanta

Qualifications

10+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience.
Active Secret clearance, ability to upgrade to Top Secret.
Experience integrating electronic or mission-system equipment into ruggedized platforms.
Experience taking designs from concept through build and integration.

Responsibilities

Develop and integrate modular communications and mission equipment racks and mechanical structures.
Support design, prototyping, production build, installation and integration-lab activities.
Design equipment mounting, packaging, load paths, and blind-mate interfaces.
Evaluate material choices for ruggedized equipment installations.
Assess space, thermal, cooling, airflow and packaging constraints.
Support harness routing, cable penetrations, and antenna mounting from a mechanical view.
Incorporate EMP/HEMP survivability into rack/enclosure designs.
Coordinate with Electrical/RF and other engineering disciplines to resolve issues.
Support design reviews and transition concepts to physical builds.
