JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge projects for innovative clients, including large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside diverse industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
- Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
- Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
- Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection processes.
- Develops sequencing requirements for various systems and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and assist in constructability reviews.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
- Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Supports the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
- Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding and implementing JE Dunn's non-discrimination policies.
Additional Core Responsibilities
- Performs increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Develops and reviews budget estimates, systems analysis, and provides value engineering suggestions.
- Coordinates scopes of work during bidding, develops sequencing, and provides scheduling input.
- Reviews design documents, identifies quality issues, and helps develop quality control programs.
- Conducts job inspections, develops testing procedures, and verifies contractor performance.
- Prepares and reviews commissioning plans and documentation.
- Mentors less experienced team members and creates innovative tools and solutions.
- Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Develops proficiency in JE Dunn's construction M/E tools and software.
- Knowledge of construction management methods.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
- Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
- 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
