Job summary

AECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Senior Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment in our Dallas or Houston, TX office. You will lead or assist with the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for DoD and mission-critical facilities.

The role includes construction administration, evaluating design alternatives, site visits, budgeting, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities to present proposals to clients and collaborate with a multi-discipline team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• 6+ years in mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• U.S. citizenship required for federal contract work.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for DoD and mission-critical facilities.
• Perform Construction Administration services, including review of shop drawings, RFIs and proposed change orders.
• Evaluate feasibility of alternative design approaches with senior team members.
• Perform site/field visits to ascertain existing conditions and equipment condition evaluations.
• Plan and organize projects to meet quality controls, criteria and budget.
• Assist in preparing proposals and presenting to clients.
• Mentor junior staff within the Mechanical Department.
• Review and edit specifications.
• Interact with clients and subcontractors.
