Resource Consulting Engineers (RCE) is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing MEP consulting team in the Ames/Des Moines, Iowa or Omaha, Nebraska area.
This is a hands‑on engineering and project leadership role for a mechanical engineer with significant experience designing building systems within an MEP consulting engineering and/or A/E design firm.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design efforts, work directly with clients and architects, coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, and support projects within the education, government, healthcare, and institutional markets.
Candidates should meet all of the following requirements:
The ideal candidate has built their career within an MEP consulting or architecture/engineering firm, designing mechanical systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
They have significant hands‑on Revit experience and a strong background in HVAC and building mechanical systems. They are comfortable taking ownership of projects, coordinating directly with architects and clients, and supporting projects throughout design and construction.
Candidates whose experience is primarily in manufacturing, product design, automotive, industrial equipment, or other non‑building mechanical engineering disciplines will generally not align with this position.
