DEKA Research and Development Corp. in Manchester, NH is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive medical device development from concept to prototype, testing, and documentation.

You will manage multiple sub-assembly designs with a strong emphasis on manufacturability and reliability. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and 5+ years in high-precision manufacturing; familiarity with injection molding, die casting, and embedded software is a plus.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience with mechanical design for manufacturability in a high precision/high volume manufacturing environment (medical preferred).
• Some experience with electro-mechanical devices with embedded software preferred.
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding, die casting, and metal injection molding is a plus.
• Organizational and coordination skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• High energy, drive, and perseverance to drive projects forward to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to communicate technically with multiple engineering disciplines.

Mansioni

• Generate creative solutions to design problems and assess viability considering risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight, and cost.
• Transition concepts into products using 3D CAD, defining requirements, selecting materials and processes, and documenting development.
• Troubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, software, industrial design, and controls.
• Evaluate designs through prototype testing and requirement verification.
• Technical review and approval for mechanical components, assemblies, analyses and tests.
• Provide mentorship and set best-practice examples for mechanical engineers.
