Job summary
bioMérieux in the United States is seeking a lead mechanical engineer to drive the design of NPI panels and sensor assemblies for the VITEK Reveal platform. You will own mechanical development, CAD modeling, GD&T, and interface with suppliers for plasma treatment and plastics expertise.
The role requires strong DFMEA/PFMEA, DVV support, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
- 7+ years in complex hardware/system development with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with design for manufacturing and regulatory awareness.
Responsibilities
- Lead NPI for VITEK Reveal panel and sensor through design transfer.
- Own mechanical design of panel and sensor assemblies and plastics.
- Create CAD drawings, model parts, apply GD&T for robust interfaces.
- Develop plasma treatment requirements, coordinate with suppliers.
- Drive DFMEA and PFMEA, support design reviews and validation.
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain.
- Support DFM/DFA, tooling design, pilot builds, and yield improvements.
- Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
