Job summary

Advanced Bionics, a Sonova Group company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help develop cochlear implant systems and body-worn medical devices. You will support mechanical product development through the lifecycle including requirements, design, prototyping and verification.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, create 3D CAD models and drawings, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years in mechanical or microelectronic product development.
• Experience from concept through manufacturing of electromechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop external and implantable systems and their mechanical components.
• Support products from concept through prototyping, manufacturing and market introduction.
• Establish mechanical requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, tolerances, and design reports.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing principles and product-development methods.
• Coordinate make-vs-buy and fabrication decisions.
• Ensure compliance with FDA/ISO design controls and documentation.
