Job summary

ResMed Inc in Calabasas, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, prototype and test motorized blowers and their components for new and existing products.

You will define mechanical specifications, perform tolerance analyses, produce layouts and engineering drawings, build prototypes and execute tests, and document verification evidence.

This hybrid role offers mentorship to junior engineers and the opportunity to influence device performance that improves patients' breathing.

Responsibilities

• Design motorized blower systems, components and assemblies for new products and improvements to existing products.
• Define mechanical specifications that support reliable manufacture and confirm that designs meet product requirements.
• Produce mechanical designs, tolerance analyses, layouts and engineering drawings using established document and change-control processes.
• Build and evaluate prototypes, then plan and execute engineering tests for blowers and related components.
• Assess design risks and potential effects on product fit, form and function, using structured risk-management methods and FMEA.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering to quantify how blower-level risks may affect the downstream flow generator.
