Job summary

Salt River Project is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to support power plant facilities with upgrades and improvements across capital and O&M budgets. The role involves project leadership, design, and mentoring engineers to advance technical capabilities and project management skills.

The position requires 14+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and optional MBA or PE credentials. Hybrid work in Arizona is offered, with travel to SRP sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• MBA or state/international PE registration preferred.
• Proven leadership and project management experience across large programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead as a project/program engineer on major, complex initiatives.
• Prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and develop management briefings for large procurements.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices in project management and technical execution.
• Represent SRP in external organizations and industry committees as needed.
