Job summary

Coffman Engineers, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an energetic Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience. You will design HVAC and plumbing systems for hospitals and commercial buildings, mentor junior engineers, and lead a small team within a multi-discipline office.

This hybrid role offers leadership growth and a path to expand the Phoenix mechanical engineering department. Base salary ranges from $110,000 to $140,000, with paid overtime, a discretionary year-end bonus, and 401k

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or related field with focus in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and/or refrigeration (required).
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (required).
• Minimum 10 years of experience executing HVAC and plumbing designs (required).
• Minimum 10 years of consulting engineering experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Contractor Industry (required).
• Familiarity with mechanical, energy, plumbing codes; ASHRAE, SMACNA, USGBC among others.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Energy Modeling software such as EnergyPro and IES.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and designers and mentor junior staff.
• Consult to architectural practices, contractors, and other engineers.
• Work in a multi-discipline team to deliver HVAC and plumbing designs for diverse projects.
• Contribute to establishing and growing the Phoenix mechanical engineering department.
