Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our San Francisco team. You will lead projects from concept through construction, serve as Engineer of Record on select assignments, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-performance HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Active California Professional Engineer license required.
• 10+ years of experience leading mechanical/HVAC system design across diverse projects.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through construction administration and CO.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor staff and drive team performance.
• Strong leadership with track record of complex project delivery and code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of mechanical engineering projects across laboratory, commercial, education, government, and hospitality sectors.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects and ensure code compliance and constructability.
• Develop sustainable HVAC system designs optimizing performance and energy use.
• Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
• Coordinate design work with architects, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor and train junior engineers; lead QC for deliverables.
• Use industry software and modeling tools to inform design and decision making.
