Job summary

Nesco Resource, LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer on Long Island to lead design, development, and testing of complex mechanical components and systems for new and existing products. The role emphasizes mentorship, project leadership, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong background in high-volume manufacturing, proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and experience with PCB layout and electronics packaging. Travel up to 15% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong background in mechanical design, high-volume manufacturing, and assembly processes.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and technical drafting (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with PCB layout and electronics packaging.

Responsibilities

• Complete the product design, analysis, and development of mechanical components and systems from concept through manufacturing release.
• Conduct FEA and FMEA to strengthen product design.
• Develop technical documentation and engineering workflows.
• Train and mentor engineers and manage projects.
• Research emerging mechanical engineering technologies and implement new tools and processes.
• Review and improve engineering processes for design optimization and efficiency.
• Create and present multiple design concepts to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Document Control to produce design packages (2-D drawings, BOMs, ECOs).
• Design testing methodologies to ensure quality and compliance.
• Test and evaluate finished products and system capabilities.
• Verify fabrication, assembly, and installation processes by reviewing workflows.
