Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Kick Stage to own design, analysis, build, test, and integration of flight hardware. You’ll lead cradle-to-grave structural work for pressurized/unpressurized assemblies within the Vehicle Engineering team.
Responsibilities include defining load cases, supporting first article through production, and coordinating with propulsion, avionics, and GNC teams to ensure flight readiness and reliability.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Impulse for our Vehicle Engineering Team, you will own all aspects of the design, analysis, build, test and integration of flight hardware - working with cross-functional engineering teams to accomplish this. This means cradle-to-grave ownership of pressurized and/or unpressurized structures in support of Impulse’s collection of next generation advanced propulsion space vehicles.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
