Job summary

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC in Appleton, WI, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for industrial welding equipment. You will drive development from concept to production, integrating mechanical and electrical systems while meeting regulatory requirements.

In this role you will mentor engineers, manage risk, and collaborate with product, manufacturing, service, and suppliers to deliver high-performance, field-ready equipment used globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of experience developing mechanical solutions for industrial products.
• Experience designing enclosures, sheet metal structures and brackets, extrusions and castings is preferred.
• Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems including power electronics, thermal management, PCBs, vibration robustness and power routing is preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM Professional, SolidWorks Simulation and CF Design is preferred.
• Experience with UL, CSA, CE/UKCA and IEC/EN regulatory compliance is preferred.
• Experience supporting products through development, production release, and ongoing manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through prototype, testing, DFMA, production and continuous improvement.
• Design enclosures, sheet metal parts, custom plastics components, extrusions and castings.
• Integrate mechanical and electrical systems with high voltage spacing and thermal management.
• Support reliability testing and regulatory compliance activities.
• Provide technical mentoring and coaching for Mechanical Engineers and Designers.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, manufacturing, service and suppliers to launch products.
