Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the GRAISE team in Hudson, MA to own in-store intelligence hardware projects and drive products from concept through volume manufacturing. You will define requirements, design mechanical sub-systems, select materials, and collaborate with electrical, software, and computer vision teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, create CAD models and drawings, perform tests (FMEA, environmental), and manage vendor relationships to meet cost, schedule,

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Experience with Engineering Methods for Analysis, including FEA, DFMEA, and statistical tools.
• Experience with thermal analysis, product validation, and materials process validation.
• Experience engaging, working with, and managing vendors and suppliers to deliver in fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of sub-systems and components through the full product development lifecycle.
• Define and execute test plans using FMEA and environmental stress testing.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and specifications for design reviews and handoff.
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers to meet spec and schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers on design best practices and review their work.
