Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our fuel recycling engineering team in Santa Clara, CA. You will own mechanical design, analysis, and interfaces for high‑temperature piping, pressure vessels, and related components, from concept through fabrication, testing, and operation.

You will apply first‑principles engineering, develop analytical models, and balance performance with safety, remote maintenance, manufacturability, schedule, and cost in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with process piping, pressure vessels, or high-temperature systems.
• Working knowledge of ASME codes (ASME B31.3 and Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code VIII).
• Strong understanding of thermal expansion, fatigue, creep, buckling, nozzle loads, pipe supports, and high-temperature materials.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert for high-temperature piping and vessels within OFRF.
• Translate process conditions into design basis, applicable codes, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform and review piping stress and vessel analyses for various loads and circumstances.
• Perform and review steady-state and transient thermal analyses.
• Define piping layout, supports, and access requirements for safe operation.
