Job summary

Commercial AI in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong MEP/consulting background to own design work from concept through client delivery.

You will tackle complex commercial, healthcare, mission-critical and data-center projects while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architects and other disciplines. This role is primarily on-site with hybrid flexibility based on performance and team needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Recent experience with an MEP or consulting-engineering firm.
• Strong hands-on mechanical design experience.
• Experience with commercial or technically complex building systems.
• Ability to work independently and communicate directly with clients.
• PE license is highly valued, but not required for every level.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical building systems.
• Develop plans, calculations and construction documents.
• Work with central plant, chiller, glycol and other complex HVAC systems.
• Support commercial, healthcare, mission-critical and data-center projects.
• Coordinate directly with clients, architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Take ownership of projects with increasing independence.
• Mentor and review the work of junior engineers.
