Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, An Oshkosh Company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team. You will lead design improvements for heavy‑duty ground support equipment and guide cross‑functional projects from concept through production.

As a senior engineer, you will perform analyses, develop robust layouts and drawings, review BOMs, and mentor Junior engineers while collaborating with electrical, hydraulic, manufacturing, and supplier teams to deliver reliable,

Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with sheet metal assemblies, weldments, and fabricated structures.
Hands‑on mechanical aptitude with testing, troubleshooting, and validating engineering designs.
Understanding of hydraulic systems and basic electrical integration.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for heavy‑duty vehicles.
Lead engineering projects of varying complexity and guide junior engineers.
Perform engineering analyses to support material and component choices.
Prepare layouts, drawings, and engineering specifications for production.
Collaborate with electrical, hydraulic, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.
