Job summary

Future Motion Inc., maker of Onewheel, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design enclosures, assemblies, and electromechanical components for next‑gen boardsports and transportation products.

You will lead a small team, mentor junior engineers, validate and iterate on mechanical systems, and collaborate with the EE team on PCBAs, connectors and wiring harnesses. Remote work is unlikely; based in Santa Cruz, CA, the role requires hands‑on development and manufacturing collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in mechanical engineering required.
• 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on prototyping/machine shop experience.
• Experience with design and documentation for a variety of manufacturing processes (injection molding, casting, sheet metal).
• Experience in the outdoor industry (bikes, snowboards, skateboards) is a strong plus.
• Excellent CAD proficiency, especially SolidWorks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
