Job summary

Real in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and integration of next-generation electromechanical products from concept through production, with emphasis on reliability and regulatory considerations.

You will own architectures, oversee prototyping, testing, and manufacturing transfer, apply DFM/DFA/GDT, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely launches and sustained quality.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering completed.
• 7+ years designing complex electromechanical products.
• Experience taking products from concept through production.
• Strong SolidWorks expertise with assemblies and drawings.
• Advanced GD&T and tolerance analysis knowledge.
• Experience with prototyping, testing and manufacturing transfer.
• Familiarity with DFM and DFA practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of complex electromechanical products from concept to production.
• Develop product architectures including mechanisms, materials, thermal management, and system integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during requirements, design reviews, testing, and commercialization.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical verification activities.
• Build and test prototypes to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Apply DFM, DFA, and Design for Reliability principles.
• Support root-cause investigations, failure analysis, and product improvements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams for successful production launches.
