Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead in-house mechanical design and CAD development for next-generation vehicle display systems. You will own the mechanical architecture, packaging concepts, and integration with electronics, connectors, and mounting strategies.

You will collaborate with CAE, Design Studio, Manufacturing, and suppliers to drive best practices, mentor teams, and ensure timely release of design data across the GVDP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field; 3+ years product design experience.
• Or 10+ years of product design experience in lieu of a technical degree.
• Experience with GM engineering tools (NX, Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, CAD release and data mgmt).
• Familiarity with CAE-supported design development and release processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the in-house mechanical design and CAD development of next-generation display systems for GM's Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative mechanical design solutions that integrate advanced electronics, styling requirements, manufacturability, and vehicle packaging constraints.You will own the mechanical architecture and CAD development for display systems, including styled surfaces, decorative components, display panels, PCBs, connectors, mounting strategies, and B-side integration features such as clips, fasteners, and attachment structures.
