Job summary

Clayco and LJC Design & Engineering seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of mission-critical facilities, including data centers and high-availability environments. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure uptime and efficiency through robust design and analysis.

You will apply expertise in air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems, coordinate with project teams, and deliver performance-driven infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Mechanical Engineering, with 3+ years on data center projects.
• PE license preferred; multi-state licensure possible.
• Experience with ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA codes and related standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design for mission-critical facilities.
• Perform detailed calculations and analyses per industry standards.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources; coordinate with disciplines.
• Review and approve mechanical drawings, specs, submittals; ensure quality.
• Delegate tasks, mentor engineers, and provide technical guidance.
• Develop reports and design documentation for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Support business development with input on RFPs and client interviews.
• Oversee construction administration activities including RFI responses and field observations.
• Build strong client relationships and communicate project requirements and updates.
