Job summary

ESP Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead CDU cooling system design for U.S.

data center deployments, bridging customers, suppliers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in mechanical design and supplier-facing leadership for industrial equipment, with deep experience in pumps, heat exchangers, and thermal management, and the ability to scale products from concept to mass production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years experience with at least 7 years in mechanical system design and supplier-facing technical leadership for industrial or packaged equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, HVAC, skid-mounted units, thermal management).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including P&IDs, GA, and mechanical schematics.
• Proven cross-functional experience across design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and service.
• Strong negotiation and coordination skills for pre-award scope and commercial assumptions.
• Solid project management capabilities with risk and issue tracking and cross-stakeholder alignment.
• Domain knowledge of data center cooling systems and centrifugal chiller applications.
• Ability to front-end and triage customer and supplier specs and translate into design inputs.
• Ability to collaborate with Japanese stakeholders in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for CDU mechanical system design including pumps, heat exchangers, piping, valves, sensors, and skid/enclosure integration.
• Lead product design activities from concept to mass production with design-for-manufacturing and design-for-service principles.
• Interface with customers to translate requirements into actionable design inputs and specifications.
• Coordinate technical alignment between customers and suppliers and support RFIs/RFPs and design clarifications.
• Support service offerings, installation, operation, and maintenance manuals; align with service partners.
