Job summary

Lyten Motorsports is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive lightweighting by moving legacy metal components to composite CFRP parts. You’ll design, prototype, and validate parts using internal 3D printing capabilities, with rapid iteration alongside the composite shop floor.

The role emphasizes DFM for composites and additive manufacturing, plus FEA/structural validation across both composite and 3D-printed parts to ensure performance in high‑performance motorsports applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field with 5+ years of mechanical design experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks).
• DFM emphasis for composites and 3D printing; strong GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead traditional carbon fiber development projects from concept to production.
• Identify components for metal-to-composite replacement to reduce weight.
• Design composite parts, ply schedules, laminate orientations, and bonded joints.
