Job summary

Manatal is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to establish and lead the Cheyenne office, transitioning from contributor to market leader. You will own the P&L, build a team, and shape the Cheyenne presence from day one with the support of an established firm.

You will drive business development, manage client relationships, and oversee design on healthcare, education, and government projects. The role offers ownership, autonomy, and a clear path to growth.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• PE license, or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience leading or managing a consulting engineering office or team.
• Deep expertise in institutional mechanical systems—healthcare, education, or government preferred.
• Demonstrated success in client management and business development.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills—able to represent the firm at the client and owner level.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Cheyenne office, including hiring, culture development, and P&L accountability
• Serve as the firm's senior technical and market presence in the Wyoming region
• Drive business development—cultivate relationships with owners, architects, and contractors
• Lead pursuit strategy, proposal development, and executive-level client presentations
• Provide senior design oversight on mechanical systems—HVAC, plumbing, piping, and controls
• Own project scope, schedule, and budget from kickoff through construction administration
• Oversee Revit 3D modeling, construction documents, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
