WSP USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Riverside, CA to lead mechanical design for healthcare, commercial, and civic projects. You will engage in HVAC, plumbing, and building systems design within a collaborative team.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings team in Riverside, CA .
This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who brings experience across healthcare and other complex building sectors, including commercial, higher education, and civic projects, and is looking to grow within a collaborative, design-focused environment.

Perform mechanical engineering design and technical delivery across a diverse portfolio including healthcare, commercial, higher education, and civic projects
Support design of HVAC, air distribution, hydronic, plumbing, and building systems
Participate in the full project lifecycle, from concept development through construction and close-out
Analyze and interpret data from site conditions, drawings, and technical documents to support engineering solutions
Prepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, and design documentation
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and sector-specific requirements, including healthcare environments
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
Support client interactions and project meetings, building strong working relationships
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for building systems
Experience supporting projects across healthcare and/or commercial, higher education, or civic sectors
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles
Experience supporting projects from design through construction
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain
Experience working on complex healthcare or institutional projects
Familiarity with California codes and local jurisdiction requirements
Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
LEED AP or sustainability credentials

Expected Salary: $100,800- $147,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
