Job summary

The Boring Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Bastrop, TX. You will drive the development of pioneering tunneling technology, working on the Prufrock machine that drills tunnels rapidly and efficiently.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, hands-on experience, and strong design skills. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in design, build and testing.
• Hands‑on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly and/or testing.

Responsibilities

• Design various systems and sub-systems related to operations.
• Employ competent use of judgment, hand calculations, FEA and CAD for designs.
• Adhere to the project schedule and ensure timely completion.
• Communicate project schedule changes to stakeholders.
• Constantly evaluate system design in the larger operational picture.
• Ensure compliance with regulations like MSHA, OSHA, NEC.
