Job summary

ASM in Phoenix is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to design and develop complex systems for advanced node deposition equipment.

You will create Creo models, produce GD&T drawings, perform thermal/structural analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring prototypes to high-volume production.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in mechanical engineering and multiple years in semiconductor equipment, with a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Several years of hands-on mechanical design experience in semiconductor equipment.
• Experience with vacuum chambers, reactors, gas delivery, pneumatics, cooling circuits.
• Ability to perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis to support robust designs.
• Proficiency in Creo and ability to create detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for advanced node ALD equipment.
• Apply engineering principles, physics fundamentals, and product-focused mindset to meet customer needs.
• Create and maintain Creo Parametric 3D CAD models and complex assemblies.
• Generate 2D drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101 for global supply chain.
• Evaluate feasibility of proposals, resolve issues, and develop new designs for safety and customer needs.
• Prepare engineering documentation to support prototype to high-volume manufacturing transition.
• Support project activities: design characterization, scheduling, design reviews, and cross-functional coordination.
• Interface with manufacturing, suppliers, and other teams for smooth transfer to manufacturing.
