Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and implement lab test systems for aircraft components. The role involves reading OEM specifications, designing custom test equipment, and coordinating projects from design through startup on fully onsite basis in Carmel, NY.

Strong background in hydraulics and pneumatics is essential, with leadership capability to guide a small engineering team.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering with a strong hydraulics/pneumatic focus.
• Open to 6+ years, but prefers 10 years in hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Self-driven with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal communication.
• Leadership to direct a small engineering team.
• Experience with aircraft ground test equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Shop experience with hand tools and knowledge of machining/metal fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read OEM test specifications and design custom test equipment.
• Oversee and coordinate assigned projects from design to installation and startup.
• Design mechanical test systems including hydraulic/pneumatic for aircraft components.
