Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Black Mountain, NC, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of electromechanical actuators for aerospace and defense markets. You will review customer requirements, assess effort, lead proposals, prototypes, and NPI activities, bringing products to production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace motion control, a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 3-D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred), and proficiency with ANSYS and

Qualifications

5+ years in aerospace motion control engineering/manufacturing.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience in cross-functional project teams and IR&D.
3-D CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
U.S. Citizen required.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of electromechanical actuators for aerospace/defense.
Review customer requirements and assess level of effort.
Lead proposal efforts, prototype development, and NPI activities.
Develop performance models and coordinate design reviews.
Create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings with designers.
Coordinate analyses using ANSYS, MATLAB, and other CAE tools.
