Kensington360, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-precision CNC machinery in Spring Lake, MI, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex capital equipment from concept through commissioning.

You will create detailed SolidWorks models, oversee prototypes and testing, perform basic FEA, and collaborate with Electrical and Manufacturing teams to deliver complete machine systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in designing complex machinery or capital equipment.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drawing standards.
• Basic FEA experience.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Experience within machine tools, automation or capital equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of complex CNC machinery from concept through commissioning.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design structural frames, spindles, guide systems, bearings and machine assemblies.
• Oversee prototype builds, testing and design validation.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic FEA to validate designs.
• Work closely with Electrical, Applications and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Support machine commissioning, troubleshooting and field service activities.
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on machine performance, manufacturability and cost reduction.

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading designer and manufacturer of high-precision CNC machinery, seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex capital equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking machinery from initial concept through design, build, testing and customer delivery while working on technically advanced equipment used in demanding manufacturing environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the mechanical design of complex CNC machinery from concept through commissioning
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
