Job summary
Actalent is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and commission vacuum-based thin-film deposition equipment, including PVD, sputtering, evaporation, and plasma systems. You will collaborate with process, controls, manufacturing, and supplier teams to troubleshoot, qualify builds, and scale systems from R&D to production.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in vacuum processing equipment, strong 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and expertise in vacuum, deposition
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in vacuum/PVD/sputtering/evaporation/plasma-processing equipment.
- Experience owning designs through fabrication, integration, testing and commissioning; strong CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis and vacuum-system expertise.

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline, plus approximately 10 or more years of experience developing vacuum, PVD, sputtering, thermal evaporation, or plasma-processing equipment. Candidates should have strong 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, vacuum-system, deposition-source, power-delivery, and thermal-management expertise, with experience owning designs through fabrication, integration, testing, and commissioning.
