Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead chassis development with product engineering and management in San Jose, CA. You will review mechanical layouts for robustness and drive cross-functional system layout and cable routing studies.

The role requires extensive experience with CAD tools (Creo/AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and DFMEA/DFM, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills to work independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; other engineering majors with related design experience considered.
• 8+ years of related experience in computer, server, or embedded products is highly desired.
• Familiar with applicable manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Proficient with CAD software such as Creo and AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly (oral and written).
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods and evaluation criteria.
• Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures.
• Product quality management or DFM / DFMEA / TA experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced talent for interpretation of mechanical drawings and documents.
• Solid understanding of usability & DFM methodology.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
• Experience with server and mechanical system architecture and peripherals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in a team environment.

• With product quality management or DFM / DFMEA / TA experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced mechanical talent for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications and technical documents.
• Solid understanding of usability & DFM methodology is a big plus
• In-depth Knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, Cero, AutoCAD, etc.
• Solid experiences in server and mechanical system architecture and relevant computer peripherals is a must
