Job summary

Apera is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Concord, CA to lead design and integration of high-performance mechanical systems for electric aviation programs. You will own the development from concept through installation on autonomous aircraft, focusing on reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include creating robust mechanical solutions, drafting drawings, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to deliver safe, zero-emission flight hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical engineering or another relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of working experience in a similar industry.
• Hands-on rapid prototyping and production projects.
• Experience with designing to comply with regulatory requirements and qualification tests.
• Proficient in the design, analysis, and optimisation of metallic and composite assemblies using finite element analysis (FEA) tools.

Our client is a highly advanced R&D aerospace program based in the Bay Area, CA, aiming to bring efficient, affordable, and zero-emission air transportation to people all over the world.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a cutting-edge company looking to transform the future of electric aviation.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating custom electronics as well as owning designs and taking those ideas from the conceptual stage through to installation on an autonomous aircraft.

Key responsibilities:

• Construct electronics with proper thermal performance and reliability in various weather conditions
