Position: Mid-Senior HVAC Engineer

Location: New York City (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week in NYC office)

Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000

About the Role:

We are seeking a Mid-Senior HVAC Engineer with 6+ years of experience in the design of HVAC systems for complex building projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in Healthcare, Science & Technology, Academic, or Commercial sectors and will be comfortable leading technical efforts from concept through construction administration.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical development of HVAC systems for large, complex projects.
• Formulate design criteria, perform load calculations, and develop conceptual and detailed system designs.
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and high-performance building solutions.
• Supervise and manage HVAC design efforts, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex design challenges, including field investigations and site inspections.
• Collaborate with contractors, clients, and internal teams throughout all project phases.
• Mentor and guide junior HVAC engineers to support professional growth and quality output.
• Utilize Revit to guide and direct design development and ensure BIM coordination.
• Perform equipment selections, ductwork and piping layout, and mechanical calculations.
• Conduct site visits across the Greater NYC area and New Jersey; develop field reports as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6 years of HVAC design experience
• PE licensure preferred
• Experience with healthcare facilities is a strong plus
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical engineering design software
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel locally
