Job summary

Insight Global is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a brand-new Manhattan office to lead the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare mechanical systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 14+ years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience, primarily in the vertical building design consulting industry.
• Healthcare project work experience required.
• Experience with mechanical design tools and concepts.
• Experience with principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills.
• Client facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of healthcare mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) from concept through construction.
• Serve as a technical leader for project execution, coordination, and delivery across internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes, improve constructability, and support integrated design outcomes.
• Support client communication and technical decision-making throughout project development.
• Guide quality control efforts and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and IMEG practices.
• Provide construction administration support, including responses to RFIs/submittals and field observations as needed.
• Mentor and support the growth of engineering staff through technical guidance and project leadership.
