Job summary

T&M Associates is looking for a Senior Staff Designer / Engineer to join their MEP Practice at one of their New Jersey offices. This role focuses on designing plumbing and fire protection systems, including preparations of detailed construction documents and providing construction administration services.

Job description

T&M Associates is seeking a Senior Staff Designer / Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join one of our New Jersey offices. This position will be in the MEP Practice with a primary focus on plumbing and fire protection engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings, including domestic hot and cold water, sanitary and vent, storm drainage, natural and medical gas, compressed air, sprinkler, fire pump, and clean agent fire suppression systems.
• Prepare construction documents including calculations, drawings, details, and specifications.
• Provide construction administration services such as site visits, construction meetings, review of submittals, and responding to RFIs.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• EIT Certification or PE License preferred.
• 4+ years of experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and in a team environment.
• Self‑starter with demonstrated organizational skills and willingness to learn new technical fields.

The salary range for this position will fall between $90,000 and $115,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
