In this role, you will lead the mechanical design, analysis, and development of complex water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment. You will serve as a technical expert, mentor junior engineers and designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineered solutions that meet client specifications, industry standards, and project schedules.**Responsibilities***The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not exhaustive.** Lead the mechanical design of pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and packaged equipment for industrial water treatment applications.* Review and check detailed drawings, general arrangements, P&IDs, fabrication details, and BOMs.* Select and specify equipment such as pumps, valves, and mechanical components to meet project and process requirements.* Enter and manage engineering data, parts, and BOMs within the company’s ERP system to support manufacturing and supply chain activities.* Ensure designs comply with ASME, ANSI, and other relevant codes and standards.* Perform and/ or reviews engineering calculations to support designs.* Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and process engineers to ensure integrated system designs.* Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.* Review vendor drawings and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.* Support manufacturing and field service teams during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.* Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.* Engage with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and support project execution.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s is an asset)* Minimum of 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.* Licensed as a Professional Engineer.* Knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards including ASME, AWWA, API.* Strong communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely.* The ability to be a positive team player in a high paced environment working under tight deadlines.* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Capable of working independently, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.**Additional Information*** This role may require up to 10% travel within North America* Physical demands may vary and could include extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of objects.**Benefits**We support your well-being with comprehensive and easy-to-use benefits that you’ll be eligible to enroll in on your first day of employment.
