Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Mojave, CA is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for Lunar Systems to design and analyze primary/secondary structures and mechanisms.

This onsite/hybrid role reports to the Structures, Analysis, and Mechanism Manager within the Propulsion and Test Department. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers, coordinate tasks, and ensure CAD drawings, analyses, and test results meet rigorous standards while engaging with vendors to meet cost and schedule objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in mechanical/aerospace.
  • Experience designing structural components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of analyzing components for harsh environments (vibration, shock, acoustic).
  • Vendor management to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers for primary/secondary structure and mechanisms.
  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks across the team.
  • Develop tools, methods, and best practices.
  • Review CAD drawings, analyses, and test reports for standards.

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer for Lunar Systems is responsible for designing, analyzing, and building Primary and Secondary Structure.

The position reports to the Structures, Analysis, and Mechanism Manager and is part of the Propulsion and Test Department based in Mojave, California. This role is onsite or hybrid

In this role, the essential functions are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the mechanical or Aerospace field.
  • Experience designing structural and mechanism components and assemblies
  • Knowledge of how to analyze components to harsh environments (vibration, shock, acoustic)
  • Manage vendors to procure components, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met
Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience developing hardware and systems for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles
Travel, Physical, and/or Government Mandated Requirements:
  • Travel up to 5%, including the possibility of overnights within the United States
  • Ability to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds

The good faith base salary range) for this role is $120,000–$150,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
