Job summary

Gas Cleaning Technologies (GCT) in Irving, TX seeks a senior mechanical engineer to design mechanical systems for air pollution control and related equipment, including bag filters, scrubbers, fans, pumps, heat exchangers, ductwork, and more.

You will lead a project engineering team, drive technical direction, ensure cost and schedule commitments, and coordinate with fabrication teams to deliver reliable, compliant designs for industrial applications.

is a process and environmental consulting engineering firm in Irving, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois, providing specialized process engineering and multi-disciplinary capabilities to the minerals, ferrous and non-ferrous metals industries. GCT is looking for a senior mechanical engineer meeting the following criteria.

• 8-10+ years experience in mechanical engineering for industrial designs
• MS or BS degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience as a project engineer / project manager

Job Purpose:

Produces mechanical engineering design and systems integration to meet the project objectives and issues; researches and develops mechanical engineering techniques and approaches; verifies and validates designs.

Duties:

• Provides technical direction and leadership in the design and development of engineering projects for air pollution control systems including equipment such as bag filters, scrubbers, fans, pumps, evaporative coolers, heat exchangers, ductwork, hooding, etc.
• Supervises a team of engineers, designers and other technical personnel to complete specific projects.
• Meets all technical, cost, and schedule commitments assigned to the engineering project team.
• Completes studies by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements; conducting site investigations; identifying and establishing performance standards; preparing documents and submittals.
• Organizes engineering design project by identifying short-term and long-range issues; preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources
• Develops mechanical design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying mechanical engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; performing design calculations; preparing drawings and visualizations; collaborating with related engineering design teams; interacting with fabricators and suppliers; identifying and resolving design integration issues; determining and establishing design specifications and safety standards.
• Verifies and supports construction by performing compliance inspections and tests; resolving construction problems related to mechanical design; coordinating and conferring with construction and production contractors.
• Documents design and maintenance by recording design features and maintenance requirements, and warnings; detailing safety requirements.
• Complies with codes and regulations by applying and enforcing adherence to regulations and testing requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing engineering data and trends.
