Job description

At Privoro, we build hardware that tackles some of the hardest problems in mobile security. As we enter an exciting stage of growth, our engineers have the opportunity to make an outsized impact on our products, technical direction, and the way we build.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help turn ambitious product ideas into real, field-ready devices. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have meaningful ownership across the full product lifecycle - from early concepts and architecture through prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and production.

This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics, manufacturing, and user experience. You will help shape compact, highly integrated products where every design decision matters.

Your Impact

You will play a key role in defining how Privoro's next generation of mobile security products are designed, built, and brought to market.

Your work will directly influence product architecture, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and overall user experience. You will solve complex packaging and mechanical challenges, rapidly turn concepts into prototypes, and drive designs through validation and production.

You will work alongside talented engineers across electrical, firmware, software, test, and manufacturing groups, bringing strong technical judgment and hands‑on problem solving to the team.

What You’ll Do
  • Own mechanical design from concept through prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and production
  • Define and drive mechanical architectures at the product and system level, balancing performance, manufacturing, reliability, cost, and cross‑functional requirements
  • Develop detailed CAD models, drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Design compact assemblies integrating PCBAs, flex‑circuits, batteries, antennas, connectors, sensors, and other electromechanical components
  • Perform tolerance analysis and apply GD&T principles to ensure design meets engineering requirements
  • Utilize engineering principles for materials, structural performance, thermal considerations, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Design for manufacturing processes including injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing
  • Build, test, and iterate prototypes to validate designs and reduce technical risk
  • Define mechanical verification requirements and support reliability and environmental testing
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and resolve design and manufacturing issues
  • Collaborate with international suppliers and manufacturing partners on tooling, qualification builds, and production ramp
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship through design reviews and day‑to‑day engineering collaboration
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience, preferably in high‑end consumer electronics product development
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate into measurable engineering outputs
  • Demonstrated experience taking physical products from concept through production

  • Experience designing compact mechanical or electromechanical assemblies to meet demanding environmental and durability requirements, including MIL‑STD‑810G, IEC 60529/IP, vibration, thermal, and related product specifications
  • Experience with injection molding, CNC machining, and production manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to independently drive complex technical work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%
