Formlabs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to advance precision 3D printing technology. You will prototype mechanisms, test materials, and iterate electro-mechanical systems while drafting exact CAD drawings for parts and assemblies. Collaboration with global teams and suppliers is essential, with occasional travel.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, strong CAD skills, and a passion for integrating injection molding and sheet metal fabrication into product development.

The Job:

• Prototype new mechanisms, from precision latches to revolutionary pumps and valves to surfaces measured in microns
• Test materials that push the boundaries of what 3D printing can do
• Research 3D printing challenges and rethink every subprocess to push technology forward
• Analyze, validate, and iterate on electro-mechanical systems
• Model everything from brackets to hinges to complex parts in CAD, creating well-specified, accurate drawings
• Partner with Global Sourcing and Manufacturing Teams to bring designs from prototype to mass production
• Flex your global savvy by working with teams around the world, virtually and in-person. Intermittent travel is expected.
• Apply your knowledge of manufacturing techniques like injection molding and sheet metal fabrication to the world of 3D printing
• Solve customer problems by using your engineering skills to eliminate friction at every stage of their workflow

Base pay is the other part of our compensation package, and it is carefully determined based on your skills, experience, and expected impact. Equity and base pay combine to make up your total compensation package at Formlabs.

The annual base pay range for this role is:
$130,000—$250,000 USD
