Job summary

Simplexity Product Development in Bellevue, WA is seeking a hands-on senior mechanical engineer to work embedded with our client on a cutting-edge robotics product. You should be proficient in FEA, preferably ANSYS, and communicate tradeoffs that affect designs based on modeling results.

The role includes making design updates to subsystems for manufacturability and creating release-quality documentation. This on-site position requires 8+ years of experience, knowledge of SolidWorks, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of applicable experience, including at least 2 years of finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Have an ownership mindset and deliver on project goals by figuring out your task list and holding yourself accountable to meeting a fast-paced schedule.
  • Proficient knowledge of ANSYS (highly preferred) or FEA software.
  • Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks (highly preferred) or equivalent CAD package.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing processes and high-volume production methods – injection molding, casting, sheet metal, machining, etc.
  • Experience developing custom actuator or drivetrain solutions, ideally with external vendors.
  • Strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA
  • Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis experience.
  • Experience having technical discussions with clients or demanding external stakeholders while remaining a hands-on individual contributor.
  • Strong understanding of actuators, gear trains, and transmissions.
  • Positive, client-focused style and a commitment to ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Bellevue, WA at Simplexity’s client site.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Simplexity is seeking a hands‑on senior mechanical engineer to work embedded with our team at our client’s site in Bellevue, WA on a cutting‑edge robotics product. You should be skilled in finite element analysis (FEA), ideally using ANSYS, and be able to communicate tradeoffs that affect designs based on modeling results. PLUSES TO HAVE

Experience in any of the following areas is a strong plus:

  • Performing torque‑speed, duty‑cycle, inertia, efficiency, life, force, energy, vibration, or thermal analyses.
  • Experience designing test fixtures, test instruments, or automated mechanical test equipment.
  • Experience using SolidWorks PDM to manage CAD files.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Base salary range: $140K - $160K, depending on years of experience and skill sets
