Job summary

JLRD Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead HVAC and mechanical systems design for complex building projects in West Palm Beach or Merritt Island, Florida. You will own mechanical design scopes, collaborate with engineers and project leaders, and mentor junior designers.

This role offers ownership, exposure to healthcare, education, federal/government, aviation, and commercial projects, and opportunities for growth in a growing Vseud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience in MEP/building systems.
• Strong experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with Revit and load calculations.
• Experience with ductwork, ventilation, and mechanical system design.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical design for assigned projects.
• Develop HVAC plans, details, schedules, and construction documents.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Design ductwork and hydronic piping systems.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other building disciplines.
• Mentor developing designers.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams.
