Job summary

Manus Biosynthesis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design, development, and documentation of mechanical systems for biotech/pharma manufacturing. You will drive projects from concept to installation, ensuring GMP compliance and regulatory alignment.

Strong AutoCAD 2D/3D skills and experience in manufacturing environments are required. You will collaborate with process engineers, QA, and facilities, coordinate with vendors, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of mechanical design experience, 3+ years in GMP-regulated biotech/pharma.
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D; Plant 3D a plus.
Experience designing process equipment, utility systems, or facility improvements in manufacturing.
GD&T proficiency and material selection for sanitary/pharma use.
Strong written and verbal communication; clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and assemblies per GMP/cGMP standards.
Design process equipment, piping, utilities, and facility modifications for biotech/pharma areas.
Maintain engineering docs: P&IDs, layouts, BOMs, specs; manage changes.
Perform design calculations and material selections for cleanrooms/reg environments.
Lead design workstreams on capital projects from initiation to commissioning IQ/OQ.
Coordinate with process, automation, QA, and facilities; support procurement and FAT/SAT.
